Container Inverter:  Mellor Metals are proud to
announce the arrival of their new Container Inverter which has been purchased from Award Attachments in New Zealand.

The inverter is designed to lift an empty container from a road container lorry and then invert it by 90 degrees thus allowing scrap metal to be loaded through the container doors using a grab handler.

Once loaded it is then lowered and secured back onto the lorry. By utilising this piece of equipment Mellor Metals can trade with any of the World Markets from its base in Great Ellingham. thanks to Kevin Francis, Engineering Services and Mark Tuckey, Award Attachments.

 

Shear Mellor Metals were very proud to commission their newly refurbished 800ton Taurus pre-compression Shear/Baler early in 2008.
The new shear has the capability to process in excess of 100tons of oversized scrap and car shells per day.

Crane In order to feed it’s new shear Mellor Metals invested in a new Terex 1804 which now takes the total number of Terex machines in use on site to nine.

Skip Service Mellor Metals is continuing to expand their skip service and as well as offering their customers a full range of skips are now able to provide various alternatives on Roll On/Off containers.

De-pollution Mellor Metals has also increased their car de-pollution capacity by adding a second de-pollution bay and rig By up grading their extraction systems to a more productive pumped system, an almost doubling in the de-pollution rate per man is being achieved by our qualified personal.

Environment Mellor Metals continues with its program of environmental works, the budget set for these works over the past 10years or so has always been exceeded by expenditure in every year. To date we have spent in excess of £1million pounds at our site on projects aimed at protecting our environment.
